Chelsea midfielder set for £16m Galatasaray move?

John Obi Mikel
Turkish giants Galatasaray claim they are very close to signing Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel according to The Express.
New Blues boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen to sign a new midfielder and the sale of Mikel could free up some space in the squad as well provide reasonable funds.
Talks
And it is Galatasaray who appear to be leading the race for the Nigerian, with reports from Turkey suggesting he was in talks with the club last night over a possible £16 million move.
The deciding factor in deal could be Didier Drogba, good friends with Mikel at Stamford Bridge and a chance to reunite with the Ivorian could be too good to turn down for the 26 year old.
Time at Chelsea
Mikel is one of the few players still in West London from Mourinho’s first spell in charge of the club, with the Portugese coach signing him from Lyn Oslo, hijacking his move to Manchester United in one of the most confusing transfer scandals in modern times.
He has never been a key player at the club but has won the Premier League, four FA Cups, the League Cup, the Champions League and the Europa League in his seven years at Stamford Bridge.
Possible replacements for the 26-year-old include Daniele De Rossi, Sami Khedeira and Xabi Alonso.
Mikel is currently at the Confederations Cup in Brazil with his future expected to be decided when he returns from the tournament.
