Chelsea have completed the signing of Bayer Leverkusen star Andre Schurrle on a five-year-deal.
After representing Germany at both U19 and U21 level, the young attacker earned his first call-up to the senior squad in November 2010, while at Mainz, whom he joined from Ludwigshafener in 2009.
He was handed his debut as a late substitute in the friendly against Sweden and has scored seven goals in 24 appearances for his country.
In his first season with Leverkusen he scored nine times in 40 appearances and last term he netted 14 in 43 and told the Chelsea website: “I am so happy now I have signed and it is an honour for me to play for this club, with this team and for these great fans.
“I am really looking forward to it.” (Sky Sports)
Chelsea have signed a great young player and he will certainly add something to an already impressive squad.
