The exhibition match for Messi and Friends, originally scheduled for Wednesday, July 2, has been canceled. "After hours of trying to convince Lionel Messi's management team to fulfill their contractual agreement and come to Los Angeles, it is clear they have no respect for these fans and this market. We feel that this is a blatant attempt to defraud American citizens and businesses that sponsored this event," said Todd Graham - CEO, El Padrino Spirits, Inc. in a barbed press release.
The three-city tour already played a match on June 29, in Medellin, Colombia. Messi and Friends beat the Rest of the World, 9-6. The status of the match in Chicago on July 6 is unknown.
